San Ramon Nonato, also known as Saint Raymond Nonnatus, was a 13th-century Spanish saint who is venerated in the Catholic Church. He is the patron saint of childbirth, midwives, and pregnant women.

San Ramon Nonato was born in Catalonia, Spain in 1204 and joined the Mercedarian Order, which was dedicated to rescuing Christian slaves held by Muslim captors. He became known for his bravery and zeal in ransoming them.

According to legend, San Ramon Nonato was born by emergency c-section after his mother died during childbirth. As a result, he is also venerated as a patron saint of expectant mothers and those seeking safe childbirth.

San Ramon Nonato died in 1240 while on a mission in North Africa. He was canonized as a saint in 1657 by Pope Alexander VII.

His feast day is celebrated on August 31st. In different parts of Spain, there are also festivals held in honor of San Ramon Nonato where people dress up in traditional attire and participate in processions and other celebrations.
